Ganau’s custom-designed high-pressure rain system autoclaves utilize 120o Celsius water and steam to penetrate deeper into raw cork planks and dramatically decrease TCA levels right at the start. Ganau Revolution’s specialized non-immersive cleaning steps employ fresh water and extreme temperatures to consistently achieve maximum purification, while reducing water usage and cross-contamination. The proprietary Ganau Revolution purification process represents the latest stage in the development of traditional boiling methods and is unrivaled in taint reduction.

Advanced Technology: Ganau designed this rain autoclave to purify cork planks with super-heated water droplets as well as steam. Autoclaves replaced the old boiling “bath” since 2005.
Higher Temperatures: This non immersion system allows cleaning at higher and consistent temperatures (up to 120° C) than other boiling system.
More Cleaning Power: Hotter water means higher pressure to drive purifying steam even deeper within the cork.
Fresher Water: The water used for cleaning is drained after each batch of cork instead of merely filtering and recirculate the same water
No cross contamination: Use of fresh, pre-heated water for each batch eliminates any risk of cross-contamination from earlier batches
Water-Conserving: Our process also saves water, using up to five times less than immersion boiling techniques.
Trattamento Fisico (“Physical Treatment”) is the first non-chemical method of cleaning corks with steam. A combination of steam and pressure penetrate deep within cork lenticels to extract TCA
